Music makes me high
Music is my best coping strategy for PTSD.

I've probably had PTSD all my life and definitely before I knew what the acronym even stood for but PTSD has always been in my life and meant something to me. Now I'm older I realise that I was living with post-traumatic stress but nobody knew. Post-traumatic stress disorder means I'm hypervigilant and super alert and even though you would think alertness is a useful thing, I'm usually exhausted (because I'm up all night), quickly distracted and with poor concentration. Within the last fours years I realised the coping strategy for this is music. Music distracts me and frees my mind simultaneously. It's really great because when I listen to music I get a break from being vigilant all time and my mood is lifted.
