The Prince of Wales visited yesterday to celebrate the expansion of The Mix and our services for young people, following our merger with Mental Health Innovations. This marks a huge moment in our mission to make free, digital mental health support more accessible to millions of young people across the UK.

At The Mix, we know that navigating life’s challenges can be tough, and we’re here to make sure no young person has to go through it alone. With this expansion, we’re introducing an even bigger and better range of mental health services—designed with and for young people. From peer-to-peer support and counselling to crisis help via the Shout text service, our digital ecosystem is evolving to meet the real needs of young people today.

During the visit, The Prince of Wales met young people involved in shaping these services, including members of our Youth Advisory Board. They shared how young voices are at the heart of what we do—helping design, create and lead services that make a real impact. The Prince also heard about the exciting new opportunities to get involved, connect with a supportive community and gain valuable skills along the way.

One of the major announcements of the day was the launch of the UK’s first national Peer Chat service, where young people can speak to trained peers who truly understand what they’re going through. Alongside this, we will also be launching new self-paced learning tools to help young people develop the skills and confidence to manage their mental health, alongside professional support when they need it most.

As part of this next chapter, we are harnessing the power of data and AI to better understand what is really driving the mental health challenges young people face today. Experts from Imperial College London and Google shared how they work with The Mix and Mental Health Innovations to use cutting-edge data insights to improve services and influence national conversations on mental health.

This moment marks the start of something big. With The Mix at the forefront of digital youth mental health, we are scaling up our impact to make sure every young person can access the support they need, whenever they need it.

Want to be part of it? Whether it’s volunteering, joining our community or just exploring the support available, The Mix is here for you.
