The Mix have been chosen as a Giving Partner on the TOMS COVID-19 Global Giving Fund
The Mix & TOMS
The footwear brand TOMS created the TOMS COVID-19 Global Giving Fund* to support long-time Giving Partners on the frontlines of the COVID-19 health crisis. The Mix are delighted to be included in this fund, which will help them to meet the spike in demand they have seen for their services since the start of the health crisis. The youth charity have been working with TOMS on a long-term basis to promote their life-saving work with young people, including recent campaign, The Body & Soul Club.
TOMS COVID-19 Global Giving Fund
On 8th April 2020, TOMS announced that the brand will be donating one-third of net profits to the COVID-19 Global Giving Fund.* As of April 1st, every TOMS purchase will directly support Giving Partners that are responding to COVID-19, both in the UK and abroad. For every £3 TOMS makes, they will donate £1 to the COVID-19 Global Giving Fund, which currently supports giving partners they have worked with for many years.
Amy Smith, TOMS Chief Giving Officer says:
“TOMS has always been in business to improve lives. That mission is important to us and our community everyday. Now, more than ever, we are honored to apply what we have learned over the past 14 years of giving to address this global health crisis. We know the best way to help is to use our resources and the power of our customer’s purchase to invest in our giving partners who are on the frontlines directly addressing this pandemic. We are grateful for these deep partnerships and are eager, together with our customers, to continue to support their efforts to combat COVID-19.”
The TOMS COVID-19 Global Giving Fund currently supports Americares, International Medical Corps, Partners in Health, WaterAid and The Mix.
Zoë Bailie, Director of Brand and Innovation at The Mix comments:
“In light of the negative effects of this global health crisis, we are glad to be continuing our work with TOMS, a long-term partner who shares our values and has supported us in our efforts to provide free and confidential mental health support services. Our group chats alone saw a 41% increase in users from February to March. The initial grant will help The Mix create a young-person centric information hub on Covid-19 and mental health.”
Together, these organisations are working to combat the negative effects of COVID-19 through mental health support, handwashing, and medical supplies.
* One third of the net profit from each TOMS product sold, starting April 1st, until TOMS ends COVID-19 giving efforts. The Fund is administered by TOMS and not by a non-profit organization.
